Title: New Tradespace layouts

Last night we launched a major upgrade to BT Tradespace. As well as launching Communities, you will also notice a significant change to the look and feel of your own Tradespace sites.

We realise that it may take some time for you to re-adjust to your new site so please do not hesitate to use this community to let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the new layouts.

As ever, the Tradespace team are on hand to respond.

Hi Martin,

Just discovered the site and have created a tradespace. One problem... haven't a clue where it is, how I customise it or where it's indexed to appear on the site. I've also spent about 5 minutes figuring out how to post to this list. couldn't see how you add to the member list. Minor detail but when you post a reply it refreshes to the top of the page rather than putting the focus back on the reply field. Site looks great but navigation is a bit random. Waiting now for support to point me in the right direction. And the profile page... I'm obviously dense but didn't get a handle on what I was supposed to use the multiple profile fields for and what they point to - multiple tradespaces I guess?

Cheers,
Jane

Hi Jane

There are a number of ways that you can get access to your tradespace If you've logged in and find yourself on the communites area, at the top of the page below the word "Support", you should find a "Manage tradespace" link. This should take you to the place were you can manage and customise the tradespace you've just created.

Now that you've registered for a Tradespace, you are automatically a member and so your details will appear in the members list. However, to provide a fuller community profile, if you click on "My account" again at the top of the page below "Support", you should be able to update it.

Feel free to take a look at mine if in doubt as to the kind of thing you could enter and should explain the use of the profile links, though at present we have a bit of a bug with the profiles and website being reversed.

Hope that answers your questions, we still have a few problems to iron out so feel free to get back to me!

Hi Martin,

I have been struggling with the whole trade space thing due to bugs and errors. It now appears that all this is woking fine and I have created my trade space and I appear in listings.

I just wondered 2 things and hope you may be able to help?

1) can html coding be used with the trade space area? I know that sounds like a stupid question, given the fact I have tried it and it doesnt work! I just thought this may well be another bug!

2) is there a way to adjust the item/product description in as much as when I set it with breaks/spaces between paragraphs it appears with the breaks/spaces removed! end result is the description looks a bit naff and non sensical and to be honest not very professional.

Any assistance is appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear that you are still experiencing a couple of issues in the set up of your Tradespace, let me respond to the points you have raised:

1) HTML coding cannot be used within the Tradespace area and currently there are no plans to enable this feature.

2) I appreciate your point regarding setting breaks/spaces between paragraphs. To rectify this issue I have requested that the development team to have a look at your site and to investigate why you are having this problem.

I hope this assist’s you for now.
