Title: Google adwords advise

Help,

I use adwords to bring costomers to my fancy dress shop. Our click through rate goes right up when the schools are closed but our conversion to sales rate seems to go down.

Is there any way to profile the users we wish to display our adds to.

You can't profile the users really - my only advice would be to not run ads in the school holidays, as it's clearly just kids looking for ideas and stuff to send to their friends.

Really you could do with concentrating on getting some natural organic listings too - at least these don't cost you anything in wasted clicks :)

if I can help please do let me know

Thanks DisplayName,

We were moving up in the organic listings quite well untill about 8 days ago when we suddenly slumped about 10 pages. I'm not sure whats going on there

Hi Dees / Bob,

Many niche sites use Google Adwords API to present ads within the various niche websites.  TripAdvisor does exactly this as an extra income stream via the Adsense package too.

I do not know your market - but I would check to see if any niche websites aimed specifically at teens/youngsters run the the Google API ??  If so, within the Adwords control panel there are functions which allow you to block your ads being shown through specific websites.

as for noticing a drop in Google SERP's -  One of the first forms of punishment by Google for some simple break of Google's rules is to drop your position by 10 places.  After that, a reoccurance causes a 50 place drop followed by a 100place sinbin.

It might be worth while ensuring that you are registered for Googles - Webmaster Console if you already haven't and check within there to see if Google have posted any warning messages against your domain within the console....   if you need any help with this, just drop me a line - it only takes a few minutes.

Blessings,

Thanks TheDonSansone,

I can't see any mention of the word Warning in webmaster tools.

There are a few Duplicate title tags and meta descriptions shown that I have already delt with.
