Title: Stillwater fly fishing

What are your views on the anglers who use the tactic of suspending a lure type fly below a sight bob on stillwaters? Is it sporting and does it really match the hatch like an Okey Dokey in the same way? Please keep all responses civil.

Hi Happyfisher

Fly fishing is an art and a way of fishing I have not experienced. Living down in Cornwall in my younger days I was forever catching brownies and char on spinning gear.

I get a great buzz out of surface fishing for carp so would see Fly fishing as another alternative.
